Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) in Newcastle

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that encourages the natural movement of lymph fluid, helping to reduce swelling and support the body's drainage system. It's widely used for lymphoedema, and for swelling and recovery after surgery — including cosmetic procedures.

What MLD can help with

MLD is used to support:

  • Lymphoedema (swelling caused by a compromised lymphatic system)
  • Swelling and recovery after cosmetic surgery, including liposuction, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, BBL and full body lift
  • Post-injury and post-operative recovery
  • A general feeling of heaviness or fluid retention

What makes MLD different

Unlike a standard massage, MLD uses very light, specific strokes that work with the lymphatic system just beneath the skin. It should always be carried out by a properly trained therapist. MLD at Body Repair Clinic is delivered by Victoria Harrison, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Skin Therapy with Level 3 MLD incorporated, and a Roseline Academy MLD certification.

Post-surgical and cosmetic recovery

After many surgical and cosmetic procedures, MLD is often recommended to help manage swelling and support a comfortable recovery. We regularly work with people recovering from cosmetic and plastic surgery, alongside their surgeon’s guidance, and tailor a course of sessions to your procedure and recovery stage.
