What is Back Pain?
Back pain is a common condition that can range from mild stiffness to persistent, limiting discomfort. It may arise from specific underlying issues such as disc bulges or herniations, facet joint irritation, and fascial restrictions, as well as muscle strain, poor posture, sports injuries, or everyday wear and tear. Each cause can affect the body differently, which is why accurate assessment is essential.
How Body Repair Clinic Can Help
At Body Repair Clinic, we do not generalise back pain. Our priority is to properly diagnose the source of your pain, understanding why it is happening rather than simply treating symptoms. Our collaborative team of osteopaths, physiotherapists, sports therapists, and massage therapists use a hands-on, evidence-informed approach to create personalised treatment plans. Through targeted manual therapy, soft tissue work, rehabilitation exercises, and sports massage, we aim to reduce pain, restore movement, and support long-term recovery.
Slipped Disc & Disc Herniation
A herniated disc — often called a “slipped disc” — happens when one of the cushioning discs between the bones of your spine bulges and presses on nearby nerves. It can cause back pain, and sometimes pain, numbness or tingling that travels down into the leg (sciatica).
The good news: most disc herniations settle without surgery. With the right hands-on treatment, guided exercise and advice on staying active, the majority of people recover well. At Body Repair Clinic we combine osteopathy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation to reduce your pain, restore movement and help stop it coming back.
