Sciatica

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica refers to pain caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve, often felt in the lower back, buttock, and travelling down the leg. Symptoms can include sharp or burning pain, pins and needles, numbness, or weakness. Common causes include disc bulges or herniations, joint-related compression, or tension affecting the nerve pathway. Identifying why the nerve is irritated is essential, as different causes require very different treatment approaches.

How We Treat Sciatica at Body Repair Clinic

At Body Repair Clinic, we believe the most important part of treating sciatica is accurate diagnosis. We are meticulous about identifying the onset and source of your sciatica, as this directly shapes your treatment plan and recovery timeline. Sciatica is never treated as a generic condition.

Alongside hands-on therapy, we focus on delivering evidence-based, knowledge-led care, helping you clearly understand what is causing your symptoms, how treatment works, and what you can do to support your own recovery.

Our aim is not only to reduce pain, but to empower you with the tools, guidance, and strategies needed to recover fully and reduce the risk of sciatica returning in the future.
