What is Hip Pain?
Hip pain can affect walking, sitting, sleep, and overall mobility. It may be caused by hip osteoarthritis, labral tears, tendon and muscle overload, joint stiffness, or referred pain from surrounding structures. Symptoms can develop gradually with age and wear, or follow injury, overuse, or surgery. In osteoarthritis, pain is often accompanied by stiffness, reduced range of motion, and difficulty with everyday activities.
How We Manage Hip Pain at Body Repair Clinic
At Body Repair Clinic, hip pain is approached with an understanding of both joint health and whole-body movement. For osteoarthritis, we combine hands-on treatment and targeted rehabilitation to reduce stiffness, improve mobility, and maintain strength and independence. For other hip pathologies, our assessment looks at load tolerance, movement quality, and how the hip works within the wider kinetic chain.
We also provide pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, supporting you before and after procedures such as hip replacements. Treatment may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue and scar therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) to help reduce swelling and support healing. Alongside this, personalised rehabilitation and strength programmes are designed to restore confidence, function, and long-term outcomesâguided by our multidisciplinary team of osteopaths, physiotherapists, sports therapists, and massage therapists.
